At present, when the plate and frame filter press equipment is running, it will go through four steps: compression, feeding, washing or drying, and discharging. It is referred to as the four-step work of plate and frame filter press.

A. Compression: The plate and frame filter press should check the whole machine in advance, including whether the filter cloth and power supply are normal, and pay attention to opening the discharge valve. After pressing the "Start" button. At this time, the oil pump starts to work, and then the piston pushes the hold-down plate to compress, and when the pressure in the chamber reaches the design point, the hydraulic press will automatically stop working. When the pressure decreases in the subsequent work and cannot meet the normal operation, the hydraulic system will be automatically opened. 

B. Feeding: When the plate and frame filter press is pressed, the feeding operation can be carried out: the feeding pump is turned on, and the feeding valve is slowly opened, and the feeding pressure gradually rises to the normal pressure. At this time, observe the liquid output of the plate and frame filter press and the leakage between the filter plates, and the liquid output of the liquid outlet hole of the plate and frame filter press gradually decreases after filtering for a period of time, which means that the filter residue in the filter chamber is gradually filled, and when the liquid outlet does not produce liquid or only a small amount of liquid, it proves that the filter residue in the filter chamber has been completely filled to form a filter cake. If the cake needs to be washed or air-dried, it can be carried out subsequently, and if it is not washed or air-dried, the cake can be unloaded. 

C. Washing or air drying: After the filter cake of the plate and frame filter press is full, turn off the feed pump and feed valve. Turn on the washing pump or air compressor, slowly open the washing liquid or air inlet valve, and wash or air dry the filter cake. After the operation is completed, turn off the washing liquid pump or air compressor and its valve, and the cake unloading operation can be carried out. 

D. Unloading the cake: This process is to close the feed valve and air inlet first, and then the plate and frame filter press push plate will slowly return, reduce the pressure on the filter plate, and even return to the appropriate quota position with the piston rod, take out a piece of filter plate, remove the cake from the filter plate, and pay attention to the protection of the filter cloth in the process of unloading, so as to prevent the filter residue from being caught on the sealing surface to affect the sealing performance and produce leakage. At present, there are two ways of plate and frame filter press equipment: manual discharge and automatic discharge.

These four steps are indispensable for the work of the plate and frame filter press, but due to the development of science and technology, sometimes filtration and blowing drying are carried out at the same time, so some equipment will not be carried out gradually, so as to improve efficiency.
